nyquist (frequency)

(Named after Harry Nyquist.) The sampling rate required to convert an analog signal into a digital signal. The sampling frequency must be greater than twice the bandwidth of the input signal to perfectly reconstruct the original. (Not to be confused with Nyquist frequency.)

Photo Tips

nyquist (frequency)

Twice the maximum frequency of a sampled signal, the minimum frequency that will accurately sample an analog signal for accurate reconstruction from the digital result.
